Google (goog, googl) launches its powerful AI US -based AI mode through its LABS testing service as it works to combat its throne challenges from Openai’s likes and bewilderment, among others.
The option that users need to turn on appears under the Google Search strap, along with features such as images, videos and shopping, is a kind of conversational AI, which is more brought in line with Chatgpt, New Meta (Meta) New Meta AI and Google’s own gemini.
The difference here is that since the AI mode is accessible directly from the Google Search page, it will appear in front of millions of users who already use Google as their regular search engine and, the important thing – their browser homepage.
“It really allows you to ask whatever you are in mind and help you in Google to help you find useful information,” explained Google Search Vice President Robbie Stein.
“It also allows you to ask follow-up questions so you can have back and forth. And it also allows you to use any modality. So you can use a voice to talk to it, or you can take a picture and ask a question about it,” Stein added.
Google now offers generative AI through its AI reviews that appear above leads to its standard Google search option, but AI Mode enchants the company’s traditional list of ranked blue links in the answers, instead provides different bullet lists and side strips with links to the sites from which the service downloads information.
Like Chatgpt and bewilderment, however, the design of AI Mode can be problematic for publishers who rely on referral links from sites such as Google Search to move traffic to their sites.
According to Stein, AI Mode collects information using real -time real -time systems on Google Search and the company’s Gemini models to provide users with reply to its requests. This means that you can ask questions about your favorite TV shows, plan trips, or ask what the weather will be like on the weekend.
AI mode takes advantage of AI reasoning. Stein says that this means that when you ask a question, the AI model makes a plan to answer and then works on a series of ways to answer your request using things like an open network, Google Knowledge graph and location data.
“This makes it really powerful and rich and we hope the exact answer, because of all the high quality information systems on which this is built, which is obviously the search for Google has been built for 25 years,” Stein explained.
