“We did not do anything wrong”

(KTLA) – A pregnant American citizen who was detained by federal agents about two weeks ago, has since given birth to a healthy girl, but her boyfriend has now been detained outside the state and her problems are far from over.

Carrie Lopez Alvarado told KTLA to Nexstar that she “tried to stay strong” during the terrible test that took place outside a building where her boyfriend and cousin worked on June 4th. She was nine months pregnant at the time.

A video made by Lopez depicts her that she is fighting a masked agent wearing a border patrol uniform asking to see her identification while defending a truck carrying his boyfriend Brayon Nadzhra and cousin Alberto Sandoval – the latter of whom is a US citizen.

All three were eventually detained. The larger footage published on social media shows agents holding Lopez after picking up her truck between a wall.

“They already had my boyfriend on the ground and dealt with my cousin … then I was in the car, I just crashed on the door,” Lopez said. “[I was asking] “What are you doing?” Why are you treating us? We did nothing wrong. “

According to a statement by a representative of the Ministry of Homeland Security, Lopez has been arrested as it prevents agents from accessing a car containing “two Guatemalan illegal aliens” inside.

“During this incident, the agents were attacked and an additional object was taken to press an officer,” the message said.

“[They said] “But you’re from Mexico, aren’t you?” I’m like “No, I’m from here,” Lopez said.[They asked] … “Where is it here?” And I’m like, “Here, USA, Los Angeles.”

“They put us in chains, so I had a chain of my hands under my belly, which reached my feet,” she added. “From time to time I would fix my hands because I had the feeling that I would put too much pressure because the chain went under my belly.”

Lopez was released after complaining of stomach pain and went straight to a hospital, where she began to have contractions, which she said was caused by the stress of what she was experiencing.

Four days after the incident, she gave birth to a healthy girl, but stress is not over yet, since the baby’s father, the nodium, is said to have been detained in a Texas facility, although Lopez says he has a flawless record.

“He has no criminal record or something,” she said. “They took him while he was working, and it hurts because he did nothing wrong. He just works and takes care of his family. Why do you treat other people this way when they are not criminals?”

“Color doesn’t matter, the race doesn’t matter … At the end of the day we’re all people,” she continued through tears.

A gofundme has been created to help Lopez hire an immigration lawyer for his boyfriend and ease the costs associated with childcare in his absence.
