“These actions will not be taken lightly and the safety of all my colleagues, both Democrat and Republican, is of utmost importance,” Felzkovski said.

In a Saturday message about the news, Milwauki CEO David Crowley said: “We cannot allow this extremism to remain without a check. Justice must be served immediately. We must get together and deny the horrifying acts of violence like this before they continue to take more innocent lives.

Senator Tammy Baldwin also called for the termination of political violence by writing in the X post. “My heart goes to the victims, their loved ones and all our neighbors in the Midwest. Political violence like this is not what we are as a country. It is all of us to condemn and stop at every stage,” she said.

Ben Wicler, leaving Democrats from Wisconsin, wrote to X that the State Democratic Party “sends support for grief and shock to our neighboring country.”

Cardinal Strich University at FOX Point on Tuesday, April 11, 2023, shortly before it closed.

Cardinal Strich enrolled in over 6,200 when Belter began the master’s work, and had dropped to less than 2500 graduates and students until he graduated from his doctorate. Like so many institutions, she struggles with less graduates to compete and less than the students who choose to continue in college.

By the fall of 2021, the enrollment was below 1400 and the school has been working red for several years. In April 2023, President Dan Scholz announced that the school would finish the semester and close.
