The DEI cuts of Target include withdrawing their participation in the human rights campaign study that tracks LGBTQ+ corporate policies and practices.

He also ended his three -year goals on DEI and completed his racial shares and change initiatives. These initiatives included the advancement of the career of black employees, creating anti -racism training for team members, promoting the business with black owners, supplying products from black suppliers, etc.
Shortly after Target announced these changes, he was confronted with numerous boycothelical threats from consumers.
According to the latest Placer.Ai, leg traffic in target stores begins to decrease during the week of January 27, and the trend continues over the next two months. Last month, Target’s leg traffic contracted by 6.5% compared to the previous year.
Against this alarming trend, the target CEO Brian Cornell has agreed to deal with the contradictions. He accepted an invitation to meet with Reverend Al Sharpton, president of the National Action Network, on April 18, to discuss Target’s decision to return to DEI.
“You can’t have elections and suddenly, change your old positions,” Sharpton said in a recent CNBC interview. “If the election determines your commitment to justice, then well, you have the right to withdraw from us, but then we have the right to withdraw from you.”
Sharpton said he would consider igniting the target boycott if during the meeting, the retailer does not express a commitment to the black community and work with black -owned companies.
“If [Cornell] He wants to have a candid meeting, we’ll meet, ”Sharpton said. “I want to hear what there is to say first.”
Subsequently, Sharpton published a statement on the social media platform X, which is said to be his meeting with Cornell “very constructive” and “frank”. Sharpton and his team will determine the “next steps” with Target during the Easter holiday.
