Singapore/New York/Taipei (Reuters) – TSMC unveiled US designers of NVIDIA chip chips, Advanced Micro Devices and Broadcom to bet on a joint venture that will manage Intel factories, according to four sources familiar with the question.

According to the proposal, the Taiwanese chip giant will manage the operations of the Founding Department, which makes chips adapted to customers, but will not own more than 50%, sources said. Qualcomm is also installed by TSMC, according to one source and a separate source.

The talk that is at an early stage came after the US President’s administration, Donald Trump, has asked TSMC, a global treaty for a contract, helping to turn to the problem industrial icon of the United States, sources said on condition as the talks are not public.

The details of the TSMC plan to take no more than 50% share and its overtures to potential partners are reported for the first time.

Any final transaction – the value of which is unclear – will need approval by the Trump administration, which does not want Intel or its foundry to be fully owned by foreign owners, the sources said.

Intel, TSMC, NVIDIA, AMD and Qualcomm declined to comment. The White House and Broadcom did not respond to requests for comment.

The future of the American giant giant, whose shares have lost more than half of their value in the last year, is a bet.

Intel reported a $ 2024 net loss to $ 18.8 billion, its first 1986, led by major violations. The property and plant equipment of the Leyarna Department had a balance sheet value of $ 108 billion as of December 31, according to the filing of a company.

Trump is eager to revive Intel’s wealth as he seeks to strengthen US advanced production, three sources said.

Sources said the terrain of the joint venture of TSMC was made to potential supporters before the Taiwanese chipmaker announces with Trump on March 3, that the company plans to make a new investment of $ 100 billion in the United States, which includes the construction of five additional chip facilities there in the coming years.

Talks to the Joint Intel Funder Department have continued since then, the three sources said, with TSMC wanting to have more than one chip designer as a partner.

Many companies have expressed interest in buying parts from Intel, but two of the four sources said the US company has rejected discussions about the sale of its Chip Design House separately from the Foundry division.
