A 40-year-old Florida man who is said to have been filmed by pulling with and “illegally” another man’s boat against the backdrop of a heated confrontation has now been arrested after an investigation.
The footage shows that a person – who was called “the best captain of the Charter you will ever meet” – spores with a more than a bush fisherman and then climbed into the victim’s boat to ask for an apology in Punta Gore on April 1. The shots have become viral in Ticktock, Facebook and YouTube.
On April 4, Punta Gorda Police Department (PGPD), Florida Fish and Wildlife Protection Commission (FWC) and US coast guards said in a joint news that Brock Horner had been taken in guard and charged with an attack or battery (no offers).

According to the PGPD, the investigation of the department included a review of “video evidence” and interviewing those present during the confrontation, as the PGPD maritime unit found a “likely reason” to arrest Horner for what he calls “illegal upload and threats made during the dispute.”
After examining the footage, investigators found that Horner “illegally” had boarded the victim’s boat without permission before threatening the victim and “escalating the situation in a criminal crime.” The coast and FWC are conducting separate investigations.
As of April 4, police said Horner remained in custody at the Charlotte County Prison.

Scott Weinberg, Horner’s lawyer, said in a statement provided to a NBC WBBH branch that Horner “honestly apologizes to Gage, to Gage’s family and to anyone who is frightened or upset by what he saw.”
“Brock is not proud of how he acted. But it is important to remember: we are not the sum of our oldest day. This video captured one moment – not all of them. Because the video became viral, Broock’s business was destroyed, his reputation was damaged, and his family was threatened. “Some have come to the point of questioning his military service and accusing him of stolen valor.”

In a Facebook message, the village of Punta’s fisherman Gorda said he had “torn any connection with this captain.”

The footage, also shared by a branch of Fox WTVT and captured by Towles in Florida in Florida, can be heard a man approaching the victim for a previous meeting. He claims that the victim was “washed” on a different occasion, while the victim claims that Horner “ran through the middle of the bridge” when he was hunting on an earlier date.
The argument then moved to the captain, complaining about the victim’s boat lights as the victim asked him to “remove F-from here.”
During the meeting, the captain then raised his own military service before calling himself “the best captain of the Charter you will ever meet” as you board the other man’s boat and requires “apologize.” The younger boat tried to escape as the suspect continued to threaten him before asking him to return him to his boat.

On April 5, the PGPD held a press conference on Horner’s arrest, as authorities confirmed that the confrontation on April 1 stems from another, which took place on the evening of March 30 – when the victim claims that Horner was driving its boat at a “high speed” and came within 10 feet of its own boat.
Chief Smith confirmed that the most appropriate confrontation had happened when the victim was fishing “by itself.”
“If you have seen the video, you will see that the victim is trying to give up,” she said. “He wants nothing to do with confrontation. At one point, saying,” Please, bro, I want nothing to do with it. “But Mr. Horner continues to be aggressive and ultimately attracted to the victim’s ship.”
Police added that Horner at one point grabbed the victim “from his shirt”. The victim became “so fear for his life, he was actually considering jumping from his boat to get out of Mr. Horner,” Smith said. Horner was detained around 10:15 on April 4, with the investigation “still open”.
Speaking with reporters on April 5, Smith called the video “decisive evidence” in the case. “It always helps you have a video when you are in this situation,” she said. “Witnesses have cooperated and generally confirmed the victim’s statement.”
In the end, Smith told reporters that the “aggressive behavior” filmed on the camera was “not tolerated” in the city.
“We want to assure everyone that the city of Punta Gore is a community suitable for boats,” she said. “We want our residents and our visitors to know that we take these things seriously and we want them to be able to enjoy their waterways.”
