The crews fight with a huge fire in North Las Vegas; 1 person injured
Las Vegas (Klas) – a massive fire in North Las Vegas on Tuesday morning raging in a place where apartments are being built. Black smoke was visible from the valley.
The fire was reported shortly before 7am at 6500 N. Fifth Street, near Centennial Parkway. When fire crews in North Las Vegas arrived at the scene, they found heavy smoke and flames in multiple three -storey residential buildings under construction, according to a message from North Las Vegas.
Firefighters reached the area just when neighbors like Tiffany Oliars began their day.
“I saw Dima called a husband, son, and I was like,” I think the community is on fire, “she said.
The firefighters began to fight the flames that were nourished by dry weather and wind. The North Las Vegas Fire Service has initiated a second Clark County Alarm and Las Vegas Fire Departments to help the content and protection of fire from distribution.

A construction worker jumped from one of the upper levels of the building during the fire. It was transported to the University Medical Center with potentially life -threatening injuries. A firefighter in North Las Vegas was transported to Centennial Hills Hospital for a heat -related disease and was released, according to Kathleen Richards, a communications manager in North Las Vegas.
8 News Now Drone Video filmed after the destroying fire and shows what it seems to be three charred buildings.
City records show that the site’s checking is scheduled for yesterday, August 4, but Richards confirmed for 8 news now that the inspection is deferred today.
The inspection was routine for new construction, insulation, dry construction and clean walls of several buildings, Richards said.
The Northbound 5th Avenue was closed for traffic at Centennial Parkway. The crews appreciate the damage of neighboring buildings due to the severe heat, the news said.
Another neighbor, Joseph Brooks, was grateful that the apartment building has no residents yet.
“Nobody still lived there, so I didn’t think anyone was hurt,” Brooks said. “I’m sorry the worker was hurting, but it was an empty apartment. They were ready to hire there. I thought they were, every minute, to prepare to start hiring him for people.”
All homeowners who find damage related to the heat of their property are advised to call the North Las Vegas Fire Service of the Fire Service of the Fire Service at (702) 633-1102 next week to assist the insurance claim documentation.
The cause of the fire is in the process of investigation. Firefighters will stay on the site to check for hot spots.
