The Congress Library removed two sections and a half of the constitution from its website somewhere after President Donald Trump canceled the longtime library leader in May.
In recent days, Internet users have noticed that parts of Article 1 are missing from the Constitution of the Congress Constitution Constitution, annotated on the Website: Sections 9 and 10 and part of Section 8. Article 1 appeared on the site entirely in the beginning of the summer, according to the Internet archives.
On August 6, the Congress Library insisted that the deletion of several clauses in Article 1 was the result of a “coding error” on a website and ensured that the issue would be resolved in a timely manner. But despite the library statement, some continue to express suspicion given the time of removal and the specific clauses that were cut off.

Article 1 of the Constitution establishes the legislative branch of the federal government and details the various powers of Congress.
Section 9, which focuses on the restrictions of the Congress Authority, more specially includes the clause that Congress cannot stop Habeas Corpus – which gives everyone in custody the right to challenge its detention – unless it is necessary for safety at times of “rebellion or invasion”.
The Deputy Chief of Trump’s White House Staff Stephen Miller told reporters in May that the administration is “actively watching” Habeas Corpus, on PBS, against the backdrop of the mass retention of the government and deporting immigrants. Without Habeas Corpus, the aggressive Trump deportation program would have less obstacles and move faster.
Another constitutional clause, which was removed from the website of the Congress Library, included a line forbidding the congress from proposing to Americans titles of nobility – a restriction that seeks to protect the government from the United States to be influenced by European monarchies.
During his second term, starting in January, Trump has been repeatedly called the King repeatedly, including through the White House official social media. Trump’s flirting with the title inspired the No Kings scope on June 14th – Trump’s 79th birthday – contrary to his perceived abuse and possession of government.
Meanwhile, Section 10 of Article 1, which has also been removed, restricts US countries to deal with certain actions that can undermine the powers of the federal government.

The update of the digital constitution of the Congress Library came shortly after Trump fired the longtime congressional librarian Carla Hayden in May.
Hayden was appointed at a 10-year term as former President Barack Obama and confirmed by the Senate at 74-18 votes in 2016.
It is currently disputed who serves as an acting librarian of Congress. After the removal of Hayden, Trump appointed Deputy General Prosecutor Todd Blanche, his former criminal lawyer – in office, although library employees chose to recognize Robert Newlene, who was functionally the next order for his new leader.
