Haines walked down the hall and came across a group of male students, the declaration says. Then he pulled out a gun and began to shoot, hit five students.

Police in Dallas and Dallas ISD employees responded to reports of shooting around 1:00 pm Tuesday.
Sergio Campos, a member and parent of the Wilmer Municipal Council, was on the campus at that time to meet with his child’s teacher.
He said he had heard about seven rifles and saw one or two victims wear out – one with what it seems to be an injury to the leg.
“The kids were just running out, all of them – only hundreds of children were running out,” he said.

Dallas ISD Chief Stephanie Elizalde turned to the media on Tuesday after the shooting.
“Today, as we all know, the unthinkable has happened,” Elizalde said. “Honestly, this just becomes very familiar and should not be familiar.”
“There are many questions and at the moment we will not have all the answers, because some of the information will be inaccurate. So we will do everything we can because we know that it is important to always be transparent.”
The high school campus will be closed for the rest of the week. Additional security will be located in the nearby elementary school and the advisers will be available to the students after the high school has reopened.
