Son of Norway Princess, accused of four rapes

The 28-year-old son of the crown of Norway’s crown has been charged with raping four women and several acts of violence and risks up to 10 years in prison, a prosecutor said on Monday.

Marius Borg Hoibi, who was born of the Crown Princess Met-Marit, married the Crown Prince Haacon, was investigated after his arrest on August 4 last year on suspicion of being attacked by a girlfriend.

He is accused of raping four women while they sleep. In at least three of the case, he met the women the same day and had consensus sex before the alleged rape, prosecutor Sturla Henrikbo told reporters.

Hoibi is also accused of filming their genitals without their knowledge.

Henrikbo said investigators had videos and photos as proof.

It is alleged that the four rapes took place in 2018, 2023 and 2024, the last after the start of the police investigation.

Other accusations against Hoibi include domestic abuse against a former partner and several issues of peace, vandalism, vandalism and violations of restrictive orders against another former partner.

The only victim identified by the prosecution was Hoibi’s ex -girlfriend Nora Hawkland, with whom he was accused of physical and psychological abuse in 2022 and 2023.

– “clenched fist” –

“Violence consisted, among other things, from him he repeatedly hit her in the face, including his fist, suffocating her, kicking her and caught her hard,” the prosecutor said.

The maximum punishment for the crimes in the prosecution is up to 10 years in prison, he said.

“These are very serious actions that can leave lasting marks and destroy life.”

The palace remained tightly closed after the message.

“It is for the courts to look at this issue and make a decision,” said spokesman Sarah Gurnemir in a comment sent by email to AFP.

The prosecutor said that Hoibi, as a member of the royal family, would not be treated “easier or more severe” than anyone else in such circumstances.

Hoibi has already admitted as an attack and vandalism in the August 2024 incident.

In a public statement 10 days after his arrest, he said he acted “under the influence of alcohol and cocaine after a dispute”, suffering from “mental problems” and fighting “for a long time with drug abuse.”

A tall blond that grows a “bad boy” look with sliced hair, earrings, rings and tattoos, Hoibi is in the eyes of a media storm after his arrest.

When he appeared in November, he spent a week in custody – unprecedented as a member of the royal family of Norway.

After his release, he was reported that he had gone for rehabilitation in London.

– ‘gilded cell’ –

Hoibi is a child of a brief romance between his mother and Morten Borg-who has also been convicted of drug abuses and crimes. They were together at a time when the future princess was part of the music scene of Norway, known for its abundance of hash and ecstasy.

He was driven in the spotlight at the age of four when his mother married the Crown Prince of Norway, with whom she continued to have two more children.

Hoibi was raised by the royal couple with their brothers Princess Ingrid Alexandra and Prince Serre Magnus, now 21 and 19 years old.

In contrast, however, it does not have an official social role.

“He is placed in a practically impossible position: one leg, one leg out. He is technically not part of the royal household, but has grown up in it,” says Sigrid Hvidten, a Royals commentator in the Dagbladet newspaper.

“He lived in a gray area, a type of gilded cell,” she told AFP in December 2024.

A cell that has not kept it far from the dispute in recent years.

According to media reports, he has been hungry with gang members, Hells Angels motorcyclists and members of the Albanian Mafia in Oslo. In 2023, police contacted him to have warning conversations after he was seen moving in the same circles as “notorious criminals.”

Last year, Hoibi was already arrested in 2017 for using cocaine at a music festival.
