Former Sean friend Didi Grine, who had to testify against him in her criminal case, but mysteriously dropped out days before the trial began, he wrote a letter to the judge, demanding the release of the Combs on bail.
Virginia Hayne, who passed the Gina, was part of the prosecutor’s office against Combs, originally anonymously called “victim-3”. But before the trial began, prosecutors alarmed the court, while the victim-3 was summoned to testify, they had lost contact with her and her lawyer and “she may not appear.”
Now, in their last attempt to receive Combs, released before their sentence, the CombS defense included a letter from “victim-3”, which for the first time identified by name. In the letter, Hain wrote to the judge that he did not believe that Kombs was a danger to the community and he was an engaged family man “who has not been violent for many years.”
Huin’s letter was included as an exhibit in the last defense filing, their response to the prosecution of the prosecutor’s office for the release of combs on bail before his sentence, which was set for October 3.
Combs was convicted by jurors last month on two allegations of transpiration to join prostitution, but justified on more serious accusations that would put him behind the bars for decades or for life: a racketeering for conspiracy and trafficking in sex.
In the letter, Hain said he had known Combs for years, both professionally and personally. She acknowledged her relationship with the disgraced tycoon “not always perfect” but “he’s ready to admit his mistakes and to be fine
Decisions in the future. “
“By the time our relationship was over, it embodied the energy of love, patience, and tenderness, which was significantly different from his previous behavior. To the best of my knowledge, he has not been violent for many years and he has been committed to being a father first,” the letter said. “I write because I do not look at Mr. Combs as a danger to me or the community.”
During the trial, former Kombs Assistant George Kaplan testifies that he once saw Kombs throw apples into Hain at his home in Miami. Cassie Ventura, the star witness of the case and another ex-girlfriend of Combs, testifies that Kombs was incredible, meeting Gina throughout their 11-year relationship.
CNN was visited by Huynh and the US District Court for the South District of New York for comment.
The Combs’ defense has asked the court to release him on a $ 50 million bond. They claim that it does not pose a risk to the community and is not a risk of flight.
Last week, they also filed a request, asking the judge to justify him fully or to give him a new process, arguing that he was unfairly persecuted on the basis of the Mann Act, calling his sentence “unconstitutional”.
“This sentence is on its own, but it should not stand at all,” Kombs lawyer Alexandra Shapiro wrote in the 62 -page memorandum.
Other witnesses in the case, including Ventura, early wrote letters to the judge, asking him to be imprisoned, telling the court that they would be afraid of their safety if he was released from prison before his sentence.
Combs has been a physically violent repeatedly with Ventura, and photographic and video protection evidence of being attacked have been shown to jurors throughout the test, including the 2016 Combs hotel monitoring staff, which was first released by CNN. In his decision to refuse to rescue Kombs immediately after the sentence, the judge cites a recognized model of Combs violence in his relationship.
