Royal Caribbean makes an unpopular change; Cruise lines are reborn

Passengers get angry when a cruise line skips a port.

They often require compensation, although they are not entitled to any under their cruise contracts. Cruise lines can even offer compensation if they make an unpopular change.

Passengers always receive full recovery of port fees or taxes when the ports are missed.

One common reason why ports are missed is the adverse time. Sometimes, for example, docking at Perfect Day Day at Cococay of Royal Caribbean is too rough. This may disappoint passengers, but the cruise line must act in the interest of safety.

In other cases, the cruise port can be skipped because something is wrong at the port. This may be a little break and only one or two cruises will be missed or there may be a bigger problem.

A popular cruise port has not been available for several months. Royal Caribbean had to cancel the voyage to this port.

Royal Caribbean cancels port stops

Transcript:

This is Cruise News today with Doug Parker.

Good morning. Here’s your news for Thursday, February 27th.

Royal Caribbean continues to adjust the routes of more ships due to the ongoing repairs of the Pier 3 of San Juan, which has been out of operation since last April.

Now the icon of the seas will skip San Juan to the selected May, June and July sailing, replacing the stop with Port Ponce, Puerto Rico or St. Martin.

Meanwhile, the symphony of the seas will redirect the April routes to the Gate Plata or Labadi.

The port, which was damaged by a cruise ship MSC last year, is the only one in San Juan that can hold the bigger ships of Royal Caribbean.

Two closed cruise marks return; Allure hit dry dock

And two major cruise marks that collapsed under Genting during the pandemic are back.

The World Cruises resorts have announced that they will rebrand and resurrect cruises of dreams and star cruises over the next three months.

Dream Cruises will continue to sail on Genting Dream from Singapore, while Star Cruises will launch two ships in Asia, Star Navigator and Star Voyager. This will start next month.

Both lines owned by Genting came out of work after the pandemic, a lesson that bankruptcy is not always the end. This is just a short stop before sailing again.

And the Alue of the Seas of the Royal Caribbean entered the dry dock in Cadiz, Spain, for Royal Amplified’s update.

Upgrading will include new apartments, dining areas, an expanded pool deck and family -friendly areas. The ship will also include the best slide of the abyss and perfect watery storms similar to those of other oasis-class ships.

After repair, Allure will spend the summer sailing in the Mediterranean before moving to Port Everglas in November.
