Latonya Pottein, a woman from North Louisiana, known for her appearance on “My 600-Fun Life”, died at the age of 40, a local coroner confirmed.
The reason for the former reality star of death on May 17 has not been confirmed, but preliminary finding suggests that this is probably due to congestive heart failure, according to the Natchitchez parish cabinet.
The Shrevport woman became well known during her appearance in Season 11 of the hit show of TLC, which shows emotional travel of painfully obese patients as they lose weight through diet and gastric bypass surgery.
Season 11 Episode 2 followed Crown, the youngest of three siblings who focused on food for emotional comfort after a series of challenging life experiences. When she was 12, her mother died suddenly and her father moved away to be with another woman. She lived with her eldest sister until she was 15 years old when her father signed a place for her to live alone.
Latonya Pottein was in the second episode of TLC Show My 600LB Life Season.
Crown joined the show to get help with weight loss so that he could go down the path to marry his future husband Down, according to Shreveport Times, part of the USA Today network. She said her brother died shortly before the photos began, which affected her ability to lose weight over time.
“I came back with my coach, I am a diet and my weight is diminishing,” Crown told The Shreveport Times in 2023, “I also move to be more close to my family so I can lose weight and suppress my surgery.”
Pottein seek financial assistance for medical treatment this year
In February, Pottein created a Gofundme page that has been looking for financial support that has been on a bed since June 2024 due to severe health problems and is approaching its largest weight of £ 740.
“I worked extremely hard to download it,” Crown writes. “My weight trip was long and difficult. In 2022, I was introduced in” My Life of 600 Pounds “, where I started with 531 pounds and worked hard to go down to 505 pounds.
Crown revealed that she moved to Houston in 2023 for a “fresh start”, but unfortunately she was in a violent relationship while she was dealing with the new diagnosis of her father’s cancer.
“Unable to take the emotional and physical fee, I returned home to Louisiana. Unfortunately, my health continued to reduce and develop severe nerve pain, causing extreme stomach cramps,” she wrote. “I prescribed me fentanyl, but my body rejected the drugs, which made me start therapy. Now, I am completely on the bed and I cannot get to the hospital because EMT says my transportation will be a danger of fire due to my weight.”
Crown was passionate about foster care
Missing a stable environment that grows, Crown tried to help others in his community as a foster parent.
“Throughout my life, I take care of young girls and have helped to support them, push them through school, help them with my children, and just encourage them and be there for them,” Crown said in 2023. “There are so many young girls who have lost both parents, going through what I experienced as a teenager.”
At the time she said she was intended to find the home of the group girls and have a “great wedding”.
“Life can turn around and you have to be positive and just remember that you are special, you are someone,” Crown said.
