From rural camping to RV full service sites, here’s what the Fond Du Lac area can offer

FOND DU LAC – Future camps in Fond du Lac did not have long driving in front of them for a picturesque or entertainment camping.

Whether in a tent or RV, camping is a popular summer activity for families, people and groups of friends, often accompanied by fishing, tourism and other activities before the nights are around fire.

Here’s what the Fond Du Lac area for camping opportunities can offer, not too far from home.

BREEZY HILL’s camping

The Camping of Breezy Hill, N4177 Cearns Lane, has tent sites, RV sites, cabin rentals and RV rents, as well as a pond for swimming, fishing lakes, swimming pool, playground and other recreation options.

Other amenities include Wi-Fi throughout the campsite, a common store with consumables, a heated and air-conditioned pavilion and a dishwashing station. Washing facilities and arcade are also available for a fee.

In addition, Breezy Hill is housed on the seven horses of Percheron on Breezy Hill Thunder and Book Weekly Rides Widings on Saturday morning, as well as horseback riding and horses.

RV Park at the Fond du Lac County Fair

Fond Du Lac County Fair Slaws, 520 Fond Du Lac Ave., have a 20th RV park near the podium, and the property offers a playground and swimming in the outdoor family center.

Most sites include water and sewage in addition to electricity, although baths and showers are available during normal working hours. Pets are welcome as long as they go up, and “outside the ground” contained in fiery trucks.

The campsite will not be available on July 13-25 because of the District Fair.

Colombia Park

Columbia Park, N10340 Calumet Harbor Road in Malone includes a playground, a basketball court, shelters and picnic facilities, as well as hosts of part -time camping available for reservation questions and assistance.

Popular for boats, the park also has six boat launches, a four-slope port for annual rentals and an overnight stay for 40-50 boats on the port wall.

Waapong Park

Beyond the river from the Waopun Water Center, 103-Decare Park of Waopun County, 825 County Park Road, has a wooded public camping with 42 units.

The property includes equipment for playgrounds, shelters, disc golf and hiking trails. The hosts of part -time camping offer reservation assistance.

Forest Division

Kettle Moraine’s State Forest Department has different camping options, from full restraints to backpack shelters.

The campsites in Lake Mauthe, N1490 County GGG and Long Lake, N3450 Division Road, have access to showers, baths and drinking water. Several campsites have electricity and some sites are only for tents.

Each site in Greenbush Group Campground, the N5854 Kettle Moraine Drive, can hold about 40 people for camping only for a tent with access to the Greenbush Trail system. There are no shower facilities nearby, but a closed shelter, drinking water and vaults are available nearby.

Horse camps can book one of the sites in the New Prospect Horseriders campsite, with electrical service, triggering posts, corals and access to the 33-kilometer bridle path.

For those who prefer rural camping and have permits, five backpack shelters along the national painting path on the glacier are only available for a hike and are not available with a vehicle. Reservations are limited to one night on a site by up to 10 people.
