Like a brilliant comet, a real supercar from Maranello – like the new Ferrari F80 – it comes very rarely, but when it does, the car world cannot look away. The Luminous F40 debuted in 1987, followed by the F50 in 1995, The Otherworldly Enzo in 2002, the Laferrari of the same name in 2013, and now, arriving in early 2026, the inimitable F80.
Let’s call this 1,184 hp Street-straight entertainment horse is magnificent as an underestimation. After two decades of professional driving, I have never piloted anything so sublime, capable of swallowing flooring; It borders on a threatening. This is no surprise given that it unleashes more power than Ferrari each time to leave the factory in history and distilled everything that a brand has learned for almost 80 years. The proof, as always, is how it feels on the road – as if any insight and innovation are seamlessly located.

Developed together with the Ferrari 499P-which focused on the durability of the Ferrari 499P, which makes 670 hp. And recently won its third consecutive 24 hours on the Le Mans-F80, it takes several more years of research and development. As the car manufacturer points out, it is easier to build a Motorsport car than for the market. Like the 499P and 296 GTB, the F80 carries a compact 3.0-liter 120-degree V-6. But unlike the others – or any manufacturing car, except the Porsche 911 GTS – uses energy obtained from the battery to power two massive electric turbochargers that rotate at 160,000 There are three electric motors on the engine – one located in the left cylinder bank and two on the front axle.
The legal indicators are shocking: zero to 125 mph for claimed 5.3 seconds and zero to 60 for only 2.0. Starting control is a wild ride, equal parts fun and brutal, as everything Boost sends a V-6 Screaming. The F80 drives quickly and effectively means tracking the light change lights: after seven red lights, two extreme blue lights near 9,000 rpm – your replica for pulling the paddle up. Miss it and you will run into a roar limiter at 9,200 rpm.
After taking five handwritten pages with aerodynamics notes, I feel confident, saying that besides Aston Martin Valkyrie, nothing casts the wind like this Ferrari. It produces £ 1,014 down the front axle and 1300 at the rear at 155 miles / hours, which I approached repeatedly as I attracted the Misano chain of Italy. To ensure that the F80 aero-production remains constant, four active shock absorbers with 48 volts end a cycle of every 25 milliseconds to maintain the height of the ride and prevent the roller of the body. It may sound strange that the car does not tilt or compress, but at these speeds, even slight changes in descending force would be destructive.
Many modern hypercars are absurdly fast, but few offer this level of control: it invites, even demands that you are attacking a path or chain with full confidence – and the attack is the right word. I drove Valkyrie, who struggles with the stability of the low speed, and the Peak Car of RHYS Millen Bentley GT3 Pikes Peak, which shares such aerodynamics, but lacks the same power. Both require aggression, but the F80 is in the other league. To put it, it is safe to say that it is moving better than everything I have ever experienced.
The only disturbing thought: I can never drive it again. And unless you are already among the most favorable few Ferrari, you probably don’t have – all 799 examples are a line -up starting at $ 3.73 million per piece.
