Officials have completed their investigation into the death of 19-year-old twins Kaadir and Naazir Lewis, who were found dead at the top of the Georgia Mountain-and announced a change from their preliminary findings when it came to their death.
On Wednesday, May 21, the Georgia Investigation Bureau (GBI) announced that they had ruled that both young men had died of suicide, a change from the agency’s initial findings on March 9, in which they classified their death as a “suicide” on the basis of preliminary evidence.
“The exhaustive investigation shows that the injuries causing their death have been self -affected,” the agency said. GBI said no additional information would be published when contacting people. The Medical Review of the GBI and the Sheriff of the City City have directed people to the GBI press release.
As the bodies of Kaadir and Naazir were found by tourists at the top of Mount Bell in Hiavasi, Georgia, on March 8, family members said they did not believe that young men – who planned to take a birthday cruise in April and dreamed of being entrepreneurs.
“My nephews wouldn’t do this!” The aunt of the twins, Yasmin Browner, wrote on a Gofundme page, which is being organized in the hope of hiring an investigator to help in the case. (Brawner did not immediately answer people’s request for comment.)

On March 7, the day before the siblings were found dead, Naazir had to fly to Boston to see friends, according to CNN. The officials said he had gone to the airport, but never got on the plane. Instead, he returned to his home in Lawrencel, a suburb in Atlanta.
What prompted Naazir and Kaadir to travel from their hometown to Hiavasi, almost 90 miles, is not clear. But cellular location data helped the researchers set up a time line from the home of the brothers and sisters to Mount Bell. There were also surveillance footage showing that the twins enter the Shell gas station in Lawrencel, Georgia, about 12 hours before the dead were found.

Other evidence that led to their official finding includes records that show that “Naazir purchased ammunition used in the gun,” according to GBI. The ammunition were delivered to Naazir’s house two days before his last trip with his brother.
In addition, the story of the Internet from their phones “shows the search for how to load a gun, the percentage of suicides in 2024 and other related searches.”
