Sacramento’s sheriff’s deputy survived after an overdose of Fentanyl, who had seized during an arrest, an internal investigation has recently revealed.
The 2023 incident initially caused an alarm as employees believe it collapsed after it was “exposed” to fentanyl. Sheriff’s spokesman alarmed the media and some deputies who witnessed the near death of his colleague were looking for therapy, according to the internal report on 468 pages.
Deputy Marvin Morales was discovered on the floor of the sheriff’s bathroom bathroom. Pariffe drugs were in the pocket of their uniform.
Later, Morales told Sheriff’s staff that he had swallowed the drug “with the intention of killing himself” because he suffers from depression. However, the investigation will reveal that this is not the first time Morales used drugs he has taken.
In October 24, 2023, the incident that led to his overdose, Morales conducted a “suspicious stop of the subject” around 5:40 pm and found a pack of teenif with methamphetamine in it, protruding from suspect pants. A laboratory drug test will later identify the drug as fentanyl, the report said.

Nearly three hours later, Morales, who was on duty and in a complete uniform, entered the public lobby and toilet at the Sheriff’s Central Division station in southern Sacramento. The investigation found that Morales had smoked some of the methamphetamine he had seized, using a glass tube, “he received at some point during his duties and a torch with a torch that were in his patrol vehicle.”
Another deputy found Morales unconscious on the bathroom floor; A glass tube with burned debris was nearby, the report said. Employees administered Narkan in an attempt to reverse an overdose. Morales has been transported to a hospital for more treatment and survived.
The responsible officers discovered the tin of the methamphetamine, which Morales had taken a pocket of his uniform pants.
The investigation also found that in two separate cases in August, Morales cited individuals for a disturbance of drugs, and then lied to how he dumped objects.
In his routine reports of crimes for each incident, Morales said he had provided a glass methamphetamine pipe and “due to the fragile state of the glass pipe and in order not to break it, I took a picture with it with my iPhone issued by the department, as I would use this photo as evidence” and throw the shirt in the Station.
In an internal interview, according to the report, Morales admitted that he lied in one of the crime reports and took the methamphetamine pipe at home and smoked the rest of the medicines from the pipe three or four times in four months.
Morales told employees that he had done it because he “gave him the” energy “that he needs to write reports in a fight.”
Investigators challenge Morales’ claims, citing a report on toxicology of blood and hair samples as evidence of chronic drug use.
The report recommends that Morales be terminated and the deputy was informed of the results on January 4, 2024. The documents show that Morales resigned on February 2 of the same year.
He voluntarily submitted his certification to a peace officer this month, according to the California Committee on Standards and Training of Peace Officers.
Speaking of his colleagues who sought therapy after he almost died, Morales said in an internal interview that he wanted to “apologize to them so bad, but I can’t. I’m not so strong bro. “
He continued to apologize to his partner and the sheriff’s office.
“That’s why I did it in this bathroom,” he said. “I didn’t want the public to see me.”
