All three people in a small plane were killed after the plane crashed around 10:12, Friday, April 11, near Boca Raton Airport.
According to the Boca Raton Firefighter, Michael Lasal, the airplane, the plane had “some mechanical problems when take -off and go down a military path, about a mile from the airport.”
Lasalle confirmed that all three people on the airplane heading to the Talahasi were killed. A man who drives a car on a military path has been taken to the hospital with unplanned injuries, he said. The man turned from the smoke and the fiery ball and entered a tree.
After the crash, the plane burst into flames and sent large plum smoke, which nearby homes, offices and schools saw. The crews of fire rescue crews were able to extinguish the fire.
The names of the victims are not released. The plane crash scattered debris beyond the road and nearby train tracks.
Lasalle said the leading investigative agency will be the National Transport Safety Council.

A NTSB spokesman said the aircraft was six -seater, built in 1977. It had a N8930N registration number and left for Boca Raton at 10:12.
It was approximately 8-10 minutes in the air before collapsing near the train tracks in the military path near the Interstate 95 and Glades Road.
The following steps are a complete ground investigation and the remains of the aircraft to a Jacksonville facility. After 30 days, a preliminary report and a final report 12-24 months later will be issued, which will have a complete analysis and probable cause.
The spokesman said there is no record of a “black box” on the plane, but they will still be able to track information about what has eventually been confused based on other parameters.

The Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transport Safety Council are actively investigating the cause of the crash. They will remain in close contact with local employees as it becomes more information. Meanwhile, local officials recommend avoiding Glades Road and a military path.
Boca Raton police have blocked the surrounding roads, including the North Military Trail between Northwestern 19th Street and Buts Road.

According to the Federal Aviation Administration, the aircraft was CESSNA 310. It was aimed at Talahasi International Airport.
Boca Raton Airplane Airplane: Ntsb will arrive in Boca Raton at 16:00
The National Transport Safety Council will arrive at Boca Raton around 4:00 pm, according to a Boca Raton police spokesman.
It is unclear whether NTSB will offer details of the investigation at that time.

Boca Raton Airport is also closed and at the nearby Boca Raton high school employees ask parents not to take their children because of traffic jams in the area. Palm Beach’s school district said access to Boca Raton High School could be affected due to the crash.
The Glades Road Interstate 95 overpass is also closed to both the east and the west.
The aircraft, a dual-proopel plane, took off the airport, employees said.

Tri Rail has announced that a bus bridge was created between Deerfield Beach and Boca Raton stations. The company said the railway service will continue south of Deerfield and north of Boca, but riders may want to look for alternative transport due to the expected delays.
The airport is a public airport for public use of about 2 miles northwest of the center of Boca Raton. It is adjacent to the Atlantic University of Florida and can be seen by the Interstate 95. It has been designated as a common aviation facility operated by seven -member organs appointed by the city of Boca Raton and a Palm Beach County Committee.

The loss of life in such a sudden and violent way is heartbreaking and my thoughts are with the families and relatives of those affected.”

Details are still emerging and we are working closely with emergency persons and authorities,” he said. “Our thoughts have all those affected by this tragic event. We ask for patience and respect for the participating families as investigations continue.”

Boca Raton Airport has been a safe airport over the years. The last significant catastrophe came in 2000, according to the Flight Safety Foundation.
The Learjet 55 collided after taking a 2400 -foot southwest of the airport with an extra – EA3005 – which had left the Pompano Air Park. Four were killed. In the end, the National Transport Safety Council made a pilot mistake to keep a visual look at other aircraft.
Also, in February 2025, Jet Embraer Praetor 600 struck a bird during a charter flight near the airport, which damaged the nose of the plane. There were no injuries.
