One of the largest and loaded cruise ports in the Caribbean is very close to the fact that it is influenced by a fire that devastated the local community at the end of Thursday, May 1.
The blaze erupted in an abandoned building near Bay Street in Nassau, the Bahamas, just steps from the harbor of Nassau, and quickly spread to a neighboring apartment complex, destroying the homes of more than two dozen residents.

Although firefighters failed to stop the fire from displacing the residents, they received it under control before reaching the cruise port, where thousands of passengers had to arrive over the weekend of more than a dozen cruise ships.

Cruise News today with Doug Parker.
Good morning, here’s your news for Friday, May 2. We follow a story in which a fire at night has devastated part of East Bay Street in Nassau, the Bahamas, only 900 feet from the cruise port of the city.
The flame began shortly after 19:00 local time on Thursday night and quickly spread, covering many structures until midnight. As the fire was spread, Nassau’s International Airport was closed and used as a fire truck. For reference, Bay Street is the main passengers of road travel after leaving the cruise port.
A listener sent an email to our advice, describing a few strong booms when the fire jumped from the building to the building, reporting that it was destroying more than a dozen homes. Today, more than 22,000 cruise passengers are expected to arrive in Nassau aboard Disney Dream, Carnival Freedom, holiday, MSC Seascape and Virgin Voyages Scarlet Lady. There is no formal word for the cause of the fire or any injuries during the broadcast.
