A Florida woman is behind bars after leaving her teenager and seven dogs in “abominable living conditions” to go on a two -week vacation in Las Vegas, according to police.
The Putnam County Sheriff arrested 37 -year -old Jessica Coopland, 37 years old on charges of neglecting children and animals after calling family members and dogs.
The first call came on Monday when a family member outside the state called the Putnam County MPs to ask for a teenager’s welfare check in a tent, Florida, the agency said.
When the deputies went to the home, an adult was out and told them he was “cleaning” before Coopeland returned home. Then the teenager went out and said that “no problems and everything is fine,” according to the sheriff’s office, so the deputies left.

The 37 -year -old Jessica Copleland was arrested after leaving seven dogs and a teenage home alone for two weeks until she went on vacation in Las Vegas, according to Putnam County Sheriff.
Another family member called the sheriff’s office the same day to announce that he has a video of dogs in the home that have been abused and agreed to meet MPs to show them. There were three “heavily tired dogs in the video,” PCSO said.

The same family member also told MPs that he did not think there was food or running water in the house – information that was not provided during the initial call, according to the agency.
The deputies returned to the home with a PCSO farming detective and were put inside by the teenager. The adult who had previously been in the home was no longer there.
Inside the home, the deputies came across “abominable living conditions”, including layers of animal stools, garbage and debris throughout the home, and many cheated dogs without food or water.
The teenager told the law enforcement agencies that Coopeland had left on July 21 for Las Vegas and “different people will come to the House to check him and bring him food,” the agency said.
The teenager’s age has not been revealed.

The deputies also found seven dogs at the residence.
Coupland’s son told the law enforcement agencies that the house had been in her current state for years because her mother refuses to clean it.
“Two dogs were closed in a bedroom, covered with about 4 inches of stools without food or water. A third dog was in a cage without food or water and was very tired. Four more dogs were in the living room, surrounded by feces and had no adequate food or water,” says the Sheriffe office, adding that there are water in today’s room.
It is alleged that the teenager told the law enforcement agencies that the home had been in this condition for years because Cupland kept it in this way and refused to clean it.
Putnam County Sheriff HD Deloach said the situation was “heartbreaking and angry.”
“The mother made a conscious choice to abandon her own child in a resident who came out of dirt, surrounded by the stench of animal stools and suffering from neglected animals as she indulged in a two -week birthday trip to Las Vegas,” he said. “It was not a neglect. It was a deliberate cruelty for both her child and the animals she left.”

When the MPs were at home on Tuesday morning, assisting the animal control in the removal of dogs from the home, Copeland returned to the residence and was quickly arrested.
Body Kama’s footage, released by the agency, showed no resistance from Coopland when they informed her that her house was in a “deplorable” state and that she had animals on the edge to be hungry to death. She was quickly handcuffed and removed.
“She is now on a prolonged vacation in Putnam County Prison,” the Sheriff’s office said.
Her accusations include one census of neglecting children, three to neglect animals and four to neglect animal provisions, and its relationship is set at $ 36,000.
“Let me be clear, our community will not tolerate this level of selfish disregard for the life of man and animals. She now has time to reflect,” Deloah said.
The dogs were voluntarily handed over to the county and would be ready for adoption after being rehabilitated.
