Dad went to see a daughter for days at the hospital so that she would not feel “alone”. He died in a crash on the way home (exclusive)

I need to know

  • Three days after his daughter was born, Dennis Lewis was killed in an incident with a motorcycle on July 18

  • That day he had gone to see his newborn alone – and during the crash he was heading back home

  • “I just want more than anything to be here,” says his sorrowful partner, Amberley Trocke

The 35 -year -old Dennis Lewis was so impatient to see her newborn daughter that he went to the Hospital in Illinois hours before the planned pickup time on Friday, July 18th.

Dennis had last seen his little girl last night when girlfriend Amberley Trocke was written, but he would have returned for his own visit because she did not like to separate from Harley – although she would be home later that day.

“He wanted her to know we were there and not alone,” Amberley, a 30-year-old customer service specialist, tells people.

As she waited for her boyfriend to return home, Amberley – who had given birth to her girl three days earlier – waited with her bigger daughter Davin Jade at the Lake Beach Family Circle. After returning, the couple plans to return to Highland Park Hospital together to take Harley at 4:00 pm

At the hospital, Dennis sent a message to Amberley to say that their daughter woke up to the sound of his voice, reflecting how she kicked her legs while she was in the uterus when he spoke. Then, at 13:39, he called to say he plans to grab food before heading home.

But the new dad never did it.

An hour later, around 2:39 pm, the MPs responded to reports of a collision between a motorcycle and a semi-trailer at a junction in the green oaks, according to the Lake County sheriff.

The driver of the motorcycle, later identified as Dennis, travels west on Road 176 with green light forward as he approaches Bradley Road, witnesses told investigators. He continued to face a semi -trailer, turning left and declared dead in place.

The driver of a semi-trailer, a 50-year-old man from McCahry, was unharmed and cooperated with investigators.

The Lake Coronor service confirms to people that Dennis has died of “dumb head and neck injuries” due to the collision.

The investigation into the circumstances of the crash continues.

Now, just a few weeks after birth, Amberley is trying to navigate the abyss of the precipice, Dennis’ death has left.

“What I love in him is the way he cared for us and protect us,” she says as her voice cares. “I just want, more than anything to be here.”

On Friday of the crash, the new mom worried when the weather continued to pass, but Dennis had not yet returned home.

At 4:00 pm, the long -awaited time for a pickup truck, a friend, DJ, took her to the hospital with Davin, whose fourth birthday was two days, so they could take Harley home. Along the way, Amberley called hospitals located along the route that Dennis would be driving, asking if there was a patient with his name.

“He was not the type of man you had to worry about,” she says. “So, I knew something was wrong in my heart.”

On his return, Amberley rode in the back seat with Harley and Davin when Dennis’s mother called to say they had been signaled that there was an incident, but he did not believe it was true.

When Amberley called the police, they told her that the employees would meet her at her house in a circle of Lake Beach, but would say nothing more on the phone. At the time, she knew that the love of her life was dead.

“I was just screaming, crying and called my mother,” she says. “My [older] The daughter holds her ears, saying that her ears were hurting, but I couldn’t help him because I was just so upset. “

Only later Amberley learned that Dennis, a transmission mechanic, plans to offer after their baby was born.

“It just hurts that we were unable to finish this part of our lives,” she says.

The couple met in 2022, but only about a year ago they became a couple. “He was made for me,” she says. “We were made for each other.”

Amberley adds that although Davina was not Dennis’s biological child, he treated the girl like his own and planned to adopt her when she was adult enough to make that decision for herself.

When she realized that Amberley was pregnant, Dennis was excited, says his cousin, Stephanie Cornell, who recently saw him on the couple’s baby shower in June.

“He was so proud to start his family,” says Stephanie, who loved to attend concerts with his younger cousin. At the party, Dennis gave Stephanie a tour of the house, which was renovated, including the newly painted nursery with tables to match, and the freshly painted Davin’s room. “I have never seen him so happy all my life than seeing him being a father.”

Her daughter Brother Vance, who organizes Gofundme for Dennis family, agrees. “He was so excited to bring Harley home and raise her home that he and Amberley had put so much love,” says Bryana.

As a result of her death, Amber says that the coping was incredibly difficult.

She asked her family to help to gather a birthday for Davina, who continues to ask who would play with her now when Dennis could not ride her peaks. The 4-year-old also told her mother that she had dreamed of Dennis.

“She told him he loved him, and he said I love you back,” Amberley says. “She just misses him so much.”

Meanwhile, the mother was in and outside the hospital with baby Harley, who struggles with a potential gastrointestinal issue that doctors still managed to identify.

“I look at our children and it’s just really, really, difficult,” she says.

Although a piece of Amber’s heart is missing, she knows that Dennis is watching them all.

She says, “Our defender now protects us from above.”
