2026 Subaru Solterra debuted at the New York International Motor Show with dramatic refresh, which inhales a new life in the ever -undermining EV. Subaru turned a forgotten crossover into a legitimate player with just one disclosure.
The specifications of the previous model-227 miles of range, 100-kW maximum charging and 216 horsepower-directed behind the package. The updated Solterra is now improving from all over the country, supported by a more rash styling and upgraded technologies inside the cabin.

2026 Subaru Solterra offers a noticeable refreshed person, especially on tours, visualized before his public debut. Gone is the resemblance of Toyota BZ4X-Fresh Bumper, Headlights with a split style and a smoother, more cohesive design.
The new daytime running lights have six individual LEDs, giving the front ahead, more distinguishing. The main headlamps tingle from the bumper like a gadget from a connection car while the illuminated Subaru emblem adds a touch of modern lacquer.
At the rear, Solterra retains most of its original design, including the sharp, similar to Gundam wings and angular taillights. The new spoiler makes a little aerodynamic improvement, but the biggest visual change is the Subaru blue switch to a fashion, complete word about Wordbry on the back.
Inside, the updates are subtle but significant. A new 14.0-inch touch screen-the largest Subaru has ever offered the dash, while the center console now includes double wireless charges and still offers a spacious open cube below.

The updated exterior hints at what is below – meaningfully improved EV power. As the battery grows only to 74.7 kWh (compared to 72.8), 2026 Solterra now boasts up to 285 miles from one charge.
Subaru did not detail how he drained 25 percent more than 2 percent more capacity, but this is a welcome mystery. The standard AWD setting with double motor AWD gets a modest blow to 233 horsepower, but the new XT upholstery takes things extra with healthy 338 horsepower.
This output would make the most powerful model of Solterra XT Subaru-if not for the upcoming 375-Konian forces Trailseeker, which steals this title.
Solterra adheres to its adventure roots with a standard double charging of X-Mode all-wheel drive, leaving drivers to switch between normal, snow/dirt and deep snow/mud regimens. This is a clear nod to DNA outdoors on Subaru.
The control of the descent of the hill also comes standard, which gives an advantage of Solterra over most electric crossovers in off -road credit. Only Hyundai Ioniq 5 XRT and his cousin Toyota, BZ4X, offer similar descent support.

While 2026 Solterra may not run the package in any category – from the famous Subaru loyal fan base – is finally in the race. With a range of 285 miles and a fast load of 150 kW, it now owns its own together with rivals such as the updated Ford Mustang Mach-E and two-engine Chevy Equinox EV.
Its cleaner, without Toyota design, bring it more with Forester and Crosstrek, while the larger Trailseeker EV gives buyers another electrical option with more space. For a brand that has ever had nothing to offer in the EV space – from time to time a leasing deal – Subaru now has something really worth checking.
