Hoffman Estates, Ill. (WGN) – Two teenagers who were found unanswered in a locked vehicle and subsequently declared dead overnight in the northwestern suburban properties Hoffman, were identified, according to the Cabinet Cabinet’s Cabinet (CCMEO) medical examination.
The two teenagers identified by CCMEO are 17-year-old Jefferson A. Flores Ramos and 16-year-old Lizi Flores.
According to a statement published by the principal of the Konant Julie Novak High School, Ramos and Flores were also students at CHS at Hoffman Estates. School officials said Ramos had plans to join the US Army and was a Honduras at the International Conant Fair last week.
“With great sadness, I announce the passage of two students from the Konant high school. Sophomore Liti Flores and Senior Jefferson Flores Ramos died unexpectedly over the weekend in what authorities report a tragic incident. This is a terrible loss for the entire Conant community. As a school, our thoughts are collectively with the families, relatives and friends of Jefferson and Litzi during this extremely difficult time.
“Jefferson was preparing to finish and had plans to join the US Army. He was a proud student of Konant, who presented Honduras at the International Fair of our school last week. Litzy actively explored his way and made the most of all the opportunities in Conant. Both Jefferson and Liti were loved by their teachers and classmates.
“Our crisis team is in place and tomorrow we will have therapists in each of the Handson and Liti classes. Additional maintenance will be available to any student in need. Our therapeutic staff will be present in team rooms and small spaces with comfortable dogs.
“Please, adults in our community, parents and guardians to take the time to discuss this loss with their children. It is useful for students to process a loss at home with their families. Later today, I will send an email to the students, informing them and sharing how they can access school maintenance.
“This type of news can affect everyone differently, including those who may not have known students. Students may need support if they experience any of the following symptoms for an extended period of time while processing this loss: exceptional sadness, difficulty sleep/eating, difficulty concentrating, irritability, isolation, feeling of shock, fear and worry or numbness. Please contact your student’s orientation wizard or team administrator if you think any student needs additional support.
“I am convinced that our Konant community will unite to create an environment for caring support for each other, and that these families will know the love we had for Jefferson and Liti.”
